Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's day! Here are some of the hilights of ours...

Beautiful flowers from my hubby! They smell absolutely wonderful and I like them better than the traditional roses because I can keep them longer (hopefully, if I don't kill them)

and our tradition of heart shaped waffles or pancakes...these didn't turn out so well this year for some reason but it's the thought that counts... :)

and my first attempt at making sushi. I had always been intimidated by it because it's something I've never done. However, my husband has always wanted to make our own sushi, because he loves it so much. So, I thought it would make a perfect Valentine's day gift. I got some great tips from The Pioneer Woman. I'm sure it's one of those things that gets easier with time and the more you practice the better you get but it actually wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

The first attempt looks more like sushi casserole...

and the second and third attempts were a little better...

and one of my favorite parts, Fondue and sparkling white grape juice!
