Material Wall Art

Ready for some easy art?  I know they sell these wooden frames at IKEA for about $5 but they are much smaller than what I needed.  So, I went to Lowe's and had them cut some 1" x 2" board for me.  You can get a 96" piece for about two dollars.  The measurements for this frame were 36" by 40".  I just had them cut the pieces for me and then screwed them all together.  I used three 36" pieces and two 40" pieces.  Then, I just stapled the fabric around the edges.

and now I have a nice large piece of art!  Sadly, this actually isn't staying in my house, it's going to be used in one of the sleep labs I'm decorating.  It's a great, economical piece of art, especially with all the gorgeous fabric out there that you can use.

Happy Friday!! :)

The panel turned out wonderfully. I really want to know where the lamp is from?

Thank you! The lamp was actually on clearance at Marshalls for $20! I got two of them :)

Geez...I'm so technically challenged...I didn't mean to delete my comment. So for the record...I love the fabric panel...the fabric is fabulous and that lamp to die for...love them together! Fabric panels were all the rage in the 80's...mine was downright ugly compared to yours. And that chandelier...gorgeous!

My friend Rebekah just tried this out on our blog. I think you will enjoy the goggles she put on while using the staple gun. I will be following your blog here on out!! Thanks for the inspiration! So what kind of wood did you use for your frame? I apparently bought maple and it was a PILL to drill. I had no clue what I was supposed to get and it was not a good experience at all :( I did, however, make one and at least it turned out cute!
