I'm sure a lot of you have seen these before, but I thought I'd share mine with you. I have a friend who hunts milkglass for me and she mentioned she liked lights made with ball jars. So, on a recent trip to an antique mall, I picked up an old Ball jar and decided to make her a lamp. These are so easy to make. You can buy a kit to make them like this one from amazon, or you can do like I do and just buy an old lamp from goodwill and take out the "innards." Check out my lamp wiring tutorial HERE for more info. Total cost for this project was under ten dollars. The Bell Jar was $5.99, the lampshade was $0.49 at Goodwill, and I used the parts from a $2.99 lamp from Goodwill.
Here is the one that I made...

Thank you so much Christina! You are so sweet to say that. I'm glad you enjoy the blog!
Where is your Goodwill??? It has some of the most amazing finds I've ever seen!
Katherine, it is pretty good. We have a few in our area that are good. I do have to check 3-4 times a week and sometimes leave empty handed. I think the key is checking frequently. Although, I know some Goodwills are definitly more pricey than others, even in my area.
Bethany,
Just this spring we were helping my mother in law clean out her house and she gave me a ball jar lamp that her grandpa made filled with marbles! I thought it would be so cute for my little guy's room! Just another thought!
Thanks Holly! That is a great idea!
