I have been scouring craigslist and ebay for one of these little guys. I've seen so many fabulous makeovers and wanted one of my very own. I stumbled upon it last weekend while checking out the nester's yard sale. Well, actually my friend spotted it at a nearby yard sale and we made a beeline for it. He was asking $25 (which I would have paid) but I haggled him down to $22, I don't know what came over me! However, that $3 covered the spraypaint I needed to transform this into something a little more special. I'm still searching for something just right to fill it with. I would like something white to go with the whole monochramatic thing. Right now I'm thinking buttermints or perhaps white m & m's. I know I could just do gumballs since it is a gumball machine but I want to do something a little different.
I tried these little pumpkins...
I thought they would be perfect, festive and I love these things! First turn, great...out came a perfect little pumpkin. Second turn, disaster! It crushed them to pieces! So, back to the drawing board...
Anyways, on to the fun stuff...The before...
and the after...
Any ideas on what I could put in it? I want it to be edible not just decorative.

Super cute! That's a hard one and a bummer that the pumpkins didn't work. :(

Jelly Beans! They come in all types of colors so you can keep it seasonal if you wanted to.
I love the gumball machine! So cute! I would try jelly beans too!
I just love it!!! Nonperiels (A small, flat chocolate drop covered with white pellets of sugar)would be beautiful, but probably scrunchable!
You could try good and plentys, but those are white and pink, so you could pick out all the pink if you wanted only white. Cute idea to have gumball machine.
I just bought a pound of Peacock blue Jelly Belly's to fill an apothecary jar. So I second the jelly bean idea. Jelly Belly's have several white flavors. The best one being coconut of course.
Thanks for all the suggestions! Looks like the popular vote is for jelly beans and I think I would have to agree! Jelly belly makes one called birthday cake that is calling my name, never tried it but sounds delicious! Coconut sounds great too!!
i love this with all my heart! SO cute in white! good choice!
LOVE THIS. My brother had one in my parents' basement. I asked him if I could have it - and it's in my car RIGHT NOW! Can't wait to replicate (copycat) your idea!
For fall Reece's Pieces would work well.
I just love your gumball machine. I painted mine white last October and I was at the Nesters Yard Sale too. Small World.
