There are so many great sunburst mirrors out there! I was particularly inspired by this one from three men and a lady and this one from Janell at Isabella and Max rooms. There are seriously so many talented bloggers out there! I decided to combine the two concepts and make my own.
I started with this $8 mirror from Target. I thought it would work perfectly because it had a small lip all the way around the edge.
I attached some bbq skewers ($0.98 for 100 at Walmart) to the outer lip using my trusty hot glue gun.
looks a little scary like some sort of weapon....
next, I sprayed it with Rustoleum gold metallic spray paint to give it a nice glamourous look! I love how it turned out and it cost me less than $10 plus the spraypaint which I had laying around. This actually made it's way to a clients home but I think I like the way it looks so much that I will make one for myself. Even my hubby said he really liked it and that's saying something ;)
So here it is above my bed...

Really neat! And I love your bedding and the drape behind the bed. Awesome!
I agree. It looks fabulous! Personal question: where did you find your beautiful bedding? I recognize the middle toss pillow from Dwell Studio but is that where everything else came from? I need to spruce up our master BR with some "classy, mature" bedding and this fits the bill!

Hi, I love this mirror! And as I live in Europe, I, unfortunately, do not have a Target near by. What I do have is a little Cypriot man who will cut the mirror for me!! So do you remember how many inches was the mirror? And how big was the lip? Oh and did you use 12" skewers?? Thank you!!
How cool, I've always wanted to visit Europe! I can't remember the exact dimensions of the mirror, but I would say it was roughly 7" in diameter and the lip was about 1.5 inches deep and 0.5 inches wide all the way around. I used the 12 inch skewers.
Thank you so much!!!
