Mercury Glass Mirror

I've had this faux window box sitting in my garage for forever.  It was $5 at Goodwill and I thought I could use it for something, you never know.  The paint job was just awful.  So, I decided to separate the two pieces and turn the window into a mirror.  I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the window box yet, but I feel another DIY project coming on.

I gave it a quick coat of gray paint, after scrubbing the whole thing down.  Then I sprayed the back of the window with looking glass mirror paint.  I purchased mine at Hobby Lobby and used a 40% off coupon.  It gave it a really nice faux mercury glass look.

Unfortunately, I have no room for it in my own home so I'm hoping it will make someone else very happy when they see it all adorned for Christmas in our booth!

i have a pretty big, really old window like this that i was debating on selling actually. UNTIL i saw the mirror you did above! so you spray the BACK only of the glass and then the part of the window/mirror facing out from the wall is mirror like? i'm paranoid i'll mess it up but man does that look so pretty, especially this time of year.

i read your table post. i've been there with a disaster and i'm so sorry. :( BUT, i think the first table with pretty legs looks enough like the super exspensive one you want, and it happens to be my fave. ;)

The gal in the paint dept at Wallyworld thinks they're getting in this paint. I'm so excited! Otherwise when I want to use it, it's a 35 minute drive to the store.

Lovely this project!
