Do you ever get tired of the colors you have in a particular room in your house? I've felt that way about my living room for a while. It's been the same colors since we moved in almost three years ago. I know to most that may seem like a pretty short time, but for us crazy people designers that's a long time! I've patiently waited to find just the right way to spice it up or possibly introduce a new color, and there it was...I was strolling the aisles of World Market looking for a client and I saw it in all it's glory. It was an IKAT pillow with the same shade of orange that's in my living room and it was paired with an expected teal color. I knew it when I saw it, that would be the way to add some interest to my living room AND they had two of them left! It's was a sign. It was meant to be. I feel like you need one piece, artwork, a pillow, fabric, etc. to pull all the colors in a room together so you don't get stuck with a bunch of random colors and nothing tying them together. This pillow provides a jumping off point to add pops of teal to the room without them looking random or out of place. I'm super excited to start adding some small teal accents to the room. I think this is the change I've been looking for....
Beautiful and I looooove the horizontal lines! I left you a post you yesterday about the chandelier post. But I just wanted to tell you I am a new follower as well. Your living room is gorgeous. I love that your profile says your mind is always in design mode. I love that statement because I think it is something that only other creative souls can understand. Maybe similar to an accountant who can't get the numbers out of their head lol . People who I call "artsy fartsy" or the very creative have a hard time shutting off their brain. I couldn't sleep last night thinking of all the projects and things I wanted to do. lol..Love it. Well not this morning. I am tired :)
ReplyDeleteTake care. I look forward to seeing your work.

I just ordered this pillow. I LOVE it! It looks GREAT!
ReplyDeleteGreat minds must think alike because that is my new spring color scheme for my living room: orange and teal. I was just telling my husband the same thing about our space; three years is a long time with the same thing. LOL
ReplyDeletePS Love your work!
Thanks ladies! I love the color combo too, I'm excited for a fresh change!

I am IN love with this pillow and my jealousy meter just sky-rocketed! We're sporting red, teal and brown in our living room.
