Today, I have a before and after for you and a little sneak peak into a masculine bachelor pad makeover I just finished.
Love, this mirror. It was in need of a little fixing up so I gave it a fresh coat of Rustoleum's aged brass spraypaint and had a mirror cut for the opening, because the original one was missing.
I decided to use it in a client's home to add a trendy touch. The bold chunky "rays" made it look a little more masculine to me than the traditional starburst mirror. He loved it and I think it really looks great in the space! In fact, I kind of wish I had kept it, but there's always another deal out there for me to find! :)
So, here's the after. I'll be sharing the rest of the apartment soon!
LOVE that mirror! It looks like the one I've been eyeing on ZGallerie for $179.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the rest of the bachelor pad!
I'm not usually a big fan of sunburst mirrors, but this one is gorgeous! Great job!
ReplyDeleteHi! I have that same mirror! Found it at Garden Ridge for a steal. I have it a very glossy black right now, but I'm thinking about changing it and I love what you did with yours. Question, how did you keep the paint off the little pieces of glass? The middle piece in mine was removable, but the little ones weren't, and I had a heck of a time with them. Just thinking you might have a good answer! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE how this turned out! What a great mirror. Just came across your blog and I'm a new follower.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Emily, that's where I found this one too :) As for those little mirrors, I just taped them off using painter's tape. It was kind of a pain but it was worth it. One thing I did that made it a little easier is I taped off the the whole small mirror, not worrying about the edges, and then I carefully used an exacto knife to trim the edges so it was a perfect fit. Hopefully that helps!
