Since we are on the subject of all things sunburst/starburst I thought I would share with you another great find that I snatched up the other day. I've been adding small little touches to our living room recently to update it and give it a fresh look. I wanted a large mirror of some sort to hang, but all of the ones I found were way out of my budget. I stumbled upon this one in Garden ridge for a great deal. It was actually a clock but I knew I could easily change that.
I meant to take a before picture but I forgot. However, I can show you a picture of what the clock looked like to give you an idea. It was a little tacky and the rest of the piece was black/silver and just not my style.
So, I spraypainted it with Rustoleum's aged brass spray paint and replaced the clock with a round mirror from the craft store. I love it and it definitely makes a statement in the room.
I also added a few fun, new Chevron pillows that I made out of the leftover fabric from my dining room makeover
I'm working on a few more changes that I'll share soon!
BEAUTIFUL! I absolutely love it and what a great idea to add the mirror.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I made one with skewers a while back. I still have cereal box strips I cut up to copy that one at Under the Table and Dreaming. I haven't gotten around to assembling it. I also plan to make one out of wood shims that I saw in Blogland somewhere. It was so pretty. Love these!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Amy, I have plans to make that one out of shims too! I also saw that one on Under the Table and Dreaming (which kind of reminds me of this one) but I'm not sure I have the patience to glue all those strips together...would love to see yours when you get finished with it!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great find, the lines of the mirror are fabulous! The room is looking great, nice addition of the chevron pillows...Janell
ReplyDeleteThat mirror is fabulous! Beautiful shape and lines and who doesn't love a chevron pillow!! Your house is coming together so beautifully!!
ReplyDeleteGreat vision! I just got back from Goodwill on my lunch hour and it was mostly trash. I didn't buy a thing, which is very unusual. There's always next week!
ReplyDeleteLove your new mirror. What a great idea to change the clock out for a mirror, it really sets the piece off. Your dining room is gorgeous. I just found your blog, I can't wait to read more.
