I am super excited about this post today! I have always LOVED the iphone covers from daninotes, but $55 for a phone case is just not in my budget. Not to mention I think my husband would freak if I told him I was paying that much for one. So, my wheels started to turn and I came up with an idea for a knock off version. I still love the daninotes ones, but for the price difference I'll stick with mine.
So, I started with this clear case purchased from here for $5.
Then I created a template on my computer using Microsoft publisher. You could also do this with scrapbook paper if you wanted to but I wanted to personalize it with the monogram. Check out this website for some free patterned backgrounds.
Then, I cut it out and traced a hole to cut out for the camera lens. I just used an exacto knife to remove that portion.
and now I have lots of fun patterned inserts to customize my new cover! The possibilities truly are endless with this one. These are just a few I created one afternoon, but I'm already working on a few more. You simply slip the patterned insert into the clear cover and place you phone in the case and voila! The other nice thing is that the pattern will never wear off because the paper is protected by the case, pretty cool huh? And of course you could do this with any phone, I just happen to have an iphone.
I'm in a chevron/yellow kind of mood right now so that's what I went with for today, but that could change, and when it does I'll just switch it out.
OK, I WANT one of these. How can I get my hands on one? Can you share your templates or sell them? LOVE this idea. I've been after the grey and yellow Daninotes one for a while, but I can't justify spending that amount on my phone. XOXO

Can you tell me where to buy the cell phone covers? ALso is there blank ones for other brands. I do abstract art and would love to put them in there.

I bought it on Ebay, I'm sure they have lots for different ones for different phones. Using abstract art with them sounds like a great idea!
