Glittery Goodness

I'm back today with more uses for candle holders.  I mentioned a few days ago that I like to save candle jars.  There really are so many uses for them and it kind of makes me feel like I'm going green.  This project was inspired by this pin I found on Pinterest.  I was also inspired by Kristin's project.

I started with this plain candle jar

covered it with modge podge, looks kind of weird but I found it easiest to do this with my hand inside the jar.

And then sprinkled it with glittery goodness, which I have since been covered with.  Doesn't that always  happen with glitter?  I find it for days...

I coated it with another coat of modge podge once it was good and dry to make sure the glitter stayed put.

I plan on using this for my daughter's first birthday party to hold the straws, just like the inspiration picture.  Then when the party is over I may put a tea light in it or use it as a small vase.

  3. So cute! I made something similar a while back and I'm still finding glitter in the oddest places. :)

  4. Thanks to your post I did this yesterday with 2 $.50 glasses I found at Goodwill - the only thing I did differently was to stop about in inch from the top of the glass - I used painters tape to give me a line. I love them!! Thanks for posting!
