You may have noticed, but I kind of have a thing for gold spray paint. In my opinion, it can almost instantly take something ordinary and make it look more high end.
I found these boxes at Michaels for $1.99/each.
I just pried the metal piece off the front and gave it a quick coat of gold spraypaint.
Nothing earth shattering, but I think it's worth the 5 minutes it took to do it.
Speaking of spraypainting and boxes, I finally got around to painting these boxes purple. They were leftover from my hubby's old office and used to be green which did not work at all in my lavender office.
Thank goodness for spraypaint!

How smart! I've never thought to do that.
You know what I like best about the boxes? That you stayed simple. I love just the little touch of gold and that you didn't overdo it.
They look elegant and I love it.
Do you have a favorite gold spray paint? I've tried a couple and they never turn out to be the shade that I'm looking for. They always seems to be dull and too yellow.
Kristin, I really like Rustoleum Gold Metallic, it's the one with the shiny lid. I've tried a few others and this one is my favorite. It dries really fast too. I also like Krylon Shortcuts Gold Leaf, but it comes in a smaller container making it less bang for your buck. It works well for smaller projects though.
Ahhh, isn't it the truth about spray paint, it really is a DIY'ers best friend. I agree with Julia, love that you kept the white boxes simple with just the touch of gold rather going crazy with it.
