I found these great, solid wood chairs at a Goodwill when we were visiting Charleston a few months ago. They were only $5 too, so it was a no brainer. Then I stumbled upon this small coffee table at a local Goodwill which ended up being around $5 too. I knew it would be a perfect little set to create a craft table for my daughter.

 I used Rustoleum Universal Advance Spraypaint in white, since I've heard lots of great things about this spraypaint. I have to say I was really pleased with the results. It gave great coverage, dried pretty quickly, and had a nice smooth finish. |
I painted the inset portion of the top with chalkboard paint.
Just for fun I layered a small sisal rug with a cowhide remnant I had in my stash.
The octopus is just a vinyl decal I made using my silohuette.
I wanted a place to display her works of art (once she learns to stop eating the crayons, chalk, etc.). I was planning on buying the IKEA DIGNITET curtain wire to use for hanging her pictures (and I still might eventually do that), but decided to try to use what I have for now. I found this old fireplace screen on the curb a while ago and thought it would be good for something. I took off the two side pieces, gave it a fresh coat of paint, then just screwed in some mounting hardware and hung it on the wall. Because the screen is metal, it's magnetic and provides a great place to display her little works of art. If you found a screen that wasn't magnetic, you could always just paint it with magnetic paint.
