I've always loved the look of greek key trimmed pillows. Caitlin Wilson's are some of my favorites. They are great because the pattern is simple and mixes well with other textures and patterns. You can pretty much pair it with any other pillow and it will work.
I'll be honest, I don't think I measured any of the ribbon for this project. I thought about it, but then I realized I didn't really need to. If I can skip measuring I'm all for it. So basically, I just made sure certain pieces were cut the same length to make sure everything was even. Hopefully this little diagram will explain that.
So I had:
*2 long horizontal pieces the same
*2 long vertical pieces the same
*4 short vertical pieces the same
*4 short horizontal pieces the same
Once I had all my pieces of ribbon cut, I used a lighter to finish the edges and keep them from fraying. You don't need to hold it there long, just run it over the edge quickly.
Then I used hem tape to hold everything in place.
Once I had everything exactly where I wanted it, I just pressed it with the iron.
