I think changing out the light fixtures in your home is one of the best ways to get a custom look without spending a fortune. We had basic, builder's grade light fixtures in our home when we moved in. They were functional, but nothing special. So, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Kenroy Home to replace our pendant lighting.
Here's a little before picture of how our kitchen looked when the construction was almost complete.
They hadn't installed the pendant lights yet, but it gives you an idea of where we started.
I chose to go with the Casey Pendant. I thought the style would flow nicely with our decor and I liked that the chrome would coordinate with the rest of the finishes in the kitchen. I also loved the slightly industrial vibe it had going on.
Since the globes are clear, I used Edison bulbs. I think that just adds to the industrial vibe even more and I really love the glow they emit!
I was provided two pendant lights from Kenroy Home. All opinions are 100% mine.

They look great. I love how they don't obstruct the view in the open concept room. Great choice.

Those are so great, Bethany! Love your new (I think?) barstools, too!
They look gorgeous in your beautiful and huge kitchen! Love
Beautiful! And I love the barstools, where are they from?
Thank you! They were a housewarming present from my in laws, but they purchased them from Wayfair. Here's the link: http://www.wayfair.com/LumiSource-26.5-Bar-Stool-with-Cushion-CS-FUJI-LMS2329.html
Thanks Julia! It is definitely nice to have so much room!
Thank you! Yes, they are new, a nice housewarming gift from my in laws!
Thanks Cassie! The shape is one of the things that drew me to them! I've always loved the lights above your island and almost went for some just like them!
Thanks Sarah! So much better than the ones the builders installed! :)
Thanks Elizabeth! That's a great point about adding to the open concept, I never even though about that!
