A Pop of Blue Floral

I haven't really settled on a specific color scheme for our living room yet, but I knew I wanted to add in some sort of color.  My love for neutrals and texture runs deep, but I wanted something to make the room feel more lively.

Floral print fabrics always catch my eye, so naturally I was drawn to this pretty blue and white floral remnant at Goodwill.  I try to quickly sift through their textile section because you never know what you'll find in there.  A lot of times it's junky stuff, but sometimes you run across a gem.  Be sure to check out all the textiles, not just fabric.  You can make great pillows out of all sorts of things like curtain panels, napkins, tablecloths, etc.  This large remnant was only $0.99 and I was able to get two pillow covers out of it with some extra leftover for other projects.

Changing out your pillow covers is such a great way to change up the look of a room.  It allows you to experiment with different colors and patterns with minimal commitment.

I'm not sure of the name of the fabric I used, but if you're looking for something similar this one from Fabric.com is a good match.
