DIY teacher gift

It is hard to believe that summer is just around the corner.  I don't know what it is about this year, but it seems to be flying by!  My daughter isn't old enough to be in school yet, but my nephew is finishing up his school year soon.  So I thought it would be fun to make a little DIY teacher gift for him to share with his teachers.  Teachers do so much to shape and mold our children and it's nice to give them a little something at the end of the year to let them know they are appreciated.  But it can be hard to think of something that doesn't cost a fortune and that they can use.  So, when I was editing down my milk glass collection a few weeks ago, I thought several of the pieces would make great planters.  If you don't have a milk glass container lying around, any glass container will do.  I see cute  vintage glass vases and containers at thrift stores all the time.  Really the possibilities are endless.  So grab a vase/planter of some sort, pop a succulent in it, and you have a great gift that they can use and will hopefully love!

For the little signs I just typed up something fun and printed it out on card stock.  I'm no graphic designer, so I kept it pretty simple.  You can get as creative as you want to though, there are lots of ways you could do this.  You could even use small little chalkboard stakes (like these) and write the message on there.  For the stakes I used pretty straws, but popsicle sticks or something like that would work as well.

I think these would also be great for Sunday School teachers, daycare workers, really anyone that helps your child grow!
